ISA 2013 Show Recap
If you missed the 2013 Sign Expo in Las Vegas, Nev., from April 4-6, here is a short recap of the show from the MACtac® marketing team.
Q: What market trends where customers talking about on the show floor?
A: Many customers that stopped by the MACtac booth were talking about architectural products for indoor and outdoor applications. Customers are looking to put graphics in new places including rough walls, concrete walls and floors, and indoor and outdoor windows. They want the latest and greatest products that will look great and get noticed. Additionally, vehicle customization was a hot topic. Vehicle wraps have been popular for some time; but now people are looking to customize their personal vehicles, and they are calling on traditional sign shops to help.
Q: Does MACtac offer any products that specifically address these trends?
A: Yes, MACtac offers a wide range of products for architectural applications from cut vinyl to digital print media and overlaminates. Included in this offering are standard products for general purpose applications such as displays and signage, as well as many specialty products for wall graphics, window graphics and floor graphics that we have become known for in the industry. MACtac B-free® Window films, the only air-egress window film line on the market, eliminates the need for wet application, which cuts down on installation time and cuts cost. In our PERMACOLOR® line of overlaminate films, we offer six different slip-resistant laminates for all your floor graphics needs from short to longer term.
In respect to the increased demand in car personalization, MACtac offers a full line of color changing films in our MACmark® Tuning Films line. MACmark Tuning films are available in the industry-standard graphite, white and black carbon fiber, as well as carbon fiber silver and gold, matte black and matte white. Recently, we also added Sublime and iridescent tuning films, which give people unique color options.
Q: What was the highlight of the ISA show for the MACtac team?
A: Being able to have meaningful meetings or visits with our distributors and their customers was of great value to the team. Tradeshows like ISA are great for that type of interaction because the whole team is in one location at the same time, so anyone that needs to be in the meeting can be. Second to that was the great feedback we received from our customer base on the products we bring to the market. We were told multiple times that our Carbon Fiber MACmark Tuning Film was the best performer on the market. We were also told that our IMAGin® StreetRAP® has been used for a number of unique, large scale applications that are getting great attention.
