POP Mounting Application
When Firehouse Imaging was called upon to create in-store promotional signage for a national retailer, they had a lot of options to choose from. Because of its vast print capabilities, they can provide a printed image in almost any configuration. The project was for hundreds of prints to be displayed in men’s clothing stores promoting the new season’s look. The customer needed the rigidity of a board, so the plan was to mount an image to Ultra® Board or polystyrene.
Because Firehouse has decades of experience in the print industry, they rely on quality products, like mounting films from MACtac®, to assemble such projects. Once the image was printed on the company’s Durst Lambda 131 photographic printer, it was adhered to the polystyrene board using the PERMACOLOR® Gemini XT™ mounting adhesive. Because of the scale, the production time was important and proper adhesion was key. Firehouse relied on PERMACOLOR Gemini XT because of its high performance. They are confident it will stick to the board and stay stuck, and because of the price point, creating hundreds of these displays can be cost-effective.
The boards were run through their AGL laminator and then trimmed to size. According to Trai Majors of Firehouse, “This project was a no-brainer. Since we started using MACtac’s Gemini earlier this year, it has been a proven performer.” Even a simple application can become complex if the wrong materials are used. Gemini XT was designed for short-term applications and POP market, ensuring a strong bond to a variety of surfaces. This example is a very typical application for Gemini XT.
